2018 Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
Whistler Community Services Society, the Whistler Multicultural Network and the Whistler Public Library are now recruiting volunteers for our 2018 Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.
This program recruits volunteers to assist low-income community members file their tax returns, as a part of the Canada Revenue Agency's nation wide program. To volunteer, you need to have previously filed a personal tax return with the CRA, and be available to help out at the scheduled clinic dates.
JABC is currently looking for volunteers to mentor our Grade 10 Economics for Success program at Whistler Secondary in April 2018. Junior Achievement is the world’s largest NGO dedicated to educating young people about business. We strive to inspire and prepare youth to succeed in a global economy. We partner with educators, donors and volunteers to bring a real world experience into the classroom.
As an Economics for Success leader, you make learning fun by using games and multimedia to boost students’ self-confidence and help them apply the lessons to their lives immediately. By the end of this 3 hour program, students will discover which career path best suits their needs, as well as how to get to where they want to be as adults. This will help them set goals, seize opportunities, and create a future that fuels their passions.
JA provides the program materials, training and support to make your experience fun, meaningful and easy to deliver. If you have the time, business expertise and passion to help develop the next generation of business leaders, we want to hear from you!
